APF BOP established at Pancheshwor

Kathmandu - A border out post (BOP) of the Armed Police Force, Nepal has been set up at Pancheshwor in Baitadi district. The APF BOP was established at Rolghat in Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-1 on Wednesday. A team of 35 APF, Nepal personnel under the command of APF, Nepal Inspector would be stationed in Pancheshwor.

Deputy Superintendent of APF Amit Singh said that existing post assigned for the security of Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project was changed into the BOP. Inaugurating the BOP, Deputy Inspector General of APF of Sudur Paschim State, Hari Shankar Budhathoki, said the BOP would remain active round the clock for border security, to control trans-border crimes as well as to control revenue leakage.

He further said that the APF, Nepal personnel will engage in joint patrolling by coordinating with the Indian security personnel and will continue the border security vigilance. Prior to this, a BOP was also established at Jhulaghat in the district.

Chief District Officer of Baitadi Mohanraj Joshi said that establishment of the BOP would contribute to border security. Baitadi district shares 61 kilometres border with India. So far, a total of 129 BOP have been set up along the Nepal-India border against the government target of 500.
